With coronavirus lockdown restrictions set to ease further tomorrow, staff at Taste are planning to reopen their indoor seating area, albeit only partially.

Head chef Colin Reid, whose appearance and profession inspired the name, and owner Kyle Murray decided to add an in-house bakery as one way of adapting the business to the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic

Julie Campbell, Taste admin assistant, said: “Colin had previously run a bakery in Edinburgh so his expertise in this field wasn’t being fully utilised.

“Our other chef, Stephen Johnstone, is a very experienced dessert chef so together they complement each other extremely well.

“This was also another way for us to bring quality, fresh, in-house produce to our customers by baking our own bread and rolls for our dishes alongside all the pastries, cakes and treats.”
