The soul-themed event at Taste Smokehouse Bar/Grill, which was formerly the York Cafe, will take place this Saturday and feature live DJ entertainment from 7.30-11pm.

The High Street restaurant will also offer its full à la carte Scottish smokehouse menu from 5pm.

Director Kyle Murray told Falkirk Council’s licensing board last year he wanted Taste to be a place where people would go for food and stay for the entertainment.

He said: “We’re trying to create a friendly environment — we don’t want it to be a drinking spot but an entertainment spot.

“We want to offer a new style of food and a new style of entertainment.”

Taste has table service and management hope to eventually have an app that will allow people to order food and drinks.
