Falkirk restaurant to deliver alcohol to customers along with their food

The Croft and Creel restaurant on Grahams Road - formerly Pierre's - has been granted a new licence that means it can now deliver alcohol to customers.

It's welcome news for the Falkirk eatery as it has been successfully delivering Croft&Creel@Home boxes - with meals that are fully prepared and oven-ready - throughout lockdown but has been unable to deliver wine with them.

Owner Giovanna Leask assured members of Falkirk Council's licencing board that deliveries would not be a major part of the business but would complement the popular food offer.

She and husband Alex have owned the restaurant Pierre's since 2005 but renamed it the Croft and Creel in June last year when they moved upstairs.

The couple are now refurbishing the premises - for many years home to Casa Espanola - and have created a coffee lounge with a small bar as well as the main restaurant.

While the premises had a licence, they decided to apply for a new one that would more accurately reflect their business, which means children can now be in the restaurant with their families up until 11 pm.

Mrs Leask told the board: "I'm only looking at deliveries when customers can't come to the restaurant, like if there are mobility issues or self-isolation with the pandemic.

"It would be either myself or my husband delivering to minimise the risk - I wouldn't be delegating it to any other company."

Now, when customers order a meal at home, they can select a wine and deliveries will be made between 10am and 10pm.
