Fully aware an image can speak 1000 words, Derek Harley Photography Studio and Gallery has joined a Portraits of Togetherness campaign set up by the Guild of Photographers to show appreciation for the health service.

Derek Harley, who owns the studio in Kirk Wynd, is asking members of the public to nominate local NHS heroes who will be in with a chance of winning a free Rock the Box photo shoot.

With five winners receiving a shoot worth £230, Derek Harley Photography will also add in: one 12-box design; one framed 29.7 x 42cm print of the Rock the Box shoot; and one three-box configuration as a downloadable Facebook header.

Nominations can be made online via the Derek Harley Photography website and the winners will be selected in July.

The business is also giving the public the chance to pay for, or donate towards, additional shoots or purchases for NHS heroes, which it will subsidise by offering a 10 per cent discount when ID cards are shown.

NHS and key workers will be eligible for a 10 per cent discount on studio photo shoots or purchases in the gallery.

Guild of Photography directors Steve and Lesley Thirsk said: “The guild has an amazing and highly varied photographic community, and many initiatives are member-driven, as this one is.

“We are very proud of Derek Harley Photography who has generously committed to this wonderful campaign, and are really looking forward to seeing some of his stunning images from these photoshoots, as well as hearing about the local NHS nominated heroes!”
