Four local wedding specialists have shown why couples visit Falkirk first when it comes time to tie the knot – all of them making the shortlist for the VOWS (Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier) Awards 2016, which take place in Glasgow’s Hilton on November 21.

The awards have been something of a cakewalk for Catwalk in recent years – the business has made the shortlist for six years running and is going for three awards in a row, having won the Wedding Party Outfitter title in 2014 and 2015.

Pauline Spiers, owner of Catwalk, said: “These are the biggest awards in the industry. They are like the Oscars – well the closest I will get to going to the Oscars anyway! It’s great we have made the nominations shortlist for six years in a row because these awards are all about customer service.”

Emma Gray Photography is going for two VOWS awards in a row, having captured the Wedding Photographer title in 2015.

Owner Emma said: “These awards are very prestigious and it’s a great thing for Falkirk to have four businesses up for awards – especially when it is your customers that nominate you.”

Olivia Cameron Bridal has been nominated in the Bridal Designer category while Stewart Highland, owned by Pauline’s son Ewan Spiers, is in the running for the Groomswear Retailer award.
