Popular restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has revealed when its Falkirk branch will re-open.

The premises in Central Retail Park had been forced to close back in March when the country went into lockdown.

For a period its future was uncertain as The Restaurant Group, which owns Frankie & Benny’s, had said around 125 of its outlets would not be re-opening after lockdown as certain sites had been deemed “no longer viable to trade” due to the pandemic.

However last week we revealed that the local branch was safe and would be re-opening for business.

The company has now announced the date when it will open again.

Having already opened six restaurants south of the border earlier this week for dining in, dates have now been set for the others to follow suit.

The Falkirk branch will re-open on Monday, July 20 for click and collect and delivery, before the doors open to those wishing to eat in from Thursday, July 23.

Frankie and Benny’s say they have followed strict government and public health guidelines and have worked hard to put measures in place so guests feel safe and can enjoy a great experience.

Measures introduced include clear social distancing guidelines and signage, enhanced cleaning practices, mandatory health screening for team members and increased hand washing.

The menus are single use and contactless order and payment will be encouraged.

Customers will be asked to book in advance and will be encouraged to pay at the table.

Contact details of diners will be collected through the digital platforms – bookings, order at table and pay my bill – and stored for 21 days in accordance with government guidance.

Mark Chambers, CEO of the leisure division, said: “We are delighted to be reopening Frankie and Benny’s and very much look forward to welcoming back our guests.

"We are starting with a handful of restaurants and are aiming to have 35 open by the end of the month.

"Our priority will be to ensure the health and safety of our teams and guests whilst providing a first class experience.”
