Pamela Kerr fulfilled a long-held ambition when she launched Sheila’s Sweets in Falkirk’s Cow Wynd three weeks ago.
The 28-year-old is thoroughly enjoying what, for her, is a dream job.
Pamela, who previously worked as an area manager for Eurochange, said: “Business has been amazing – better than I could’ve imagined.

“I always wanted to have a sweet shop; my mum and dad had a newsagent shop in Hallglen and so did my grandparents.”
The name Sheila’s Sweets is a tribute to Sheila Wallace, the late grandmother of Pamela’s husband who had a passion for sugary snacks.
Redding resident Pamela is trying to strike a balance with the products she sells by catering for younger and older generations.
Classic sweets such as Chelsea Whoppers have so far proved popular, while children’s party hampers are also selling well.
Pamela said: “Pop along and have a look.
“We do so many different sweets. We’ve got some of the older ones like Chelsea Whoppers, MB Bars and Mint Crispettes that are quite nostalgic and sweets for younger kids.”
Although she runs the shop on her own, Pamela has received plenty of support from her nearest and dearest.
She added: “Thank you to my family.
“When we took on the unit, we had to turn it upside down and my family did a lot of work.”
Sheila’s Sweets is open from 10am-5pm, Tuesday to Thursday and 10am-8pm, Friday and Saturday.
Finishing touches are being added to a website for the business, however, updates can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
