The Larbert-based business will help senior employees to manage and develop colleagues, understand the manufacturing process and improve on skills away from day-to-day production.

Sally Barrie, Mathiesons HR manager, was instrumental in setting the programme up along with site departmental managers and new training and development co-ordinator Karen Hunter.

Those behind the project have developed site-specific learning on the entire business for their employees.

Mathiesons see the programme as a step towards staff development, retention and reward.

The current programme of work now has two groups totalling 14 learners who are all undertaking Modern Apprenticeships in Food and Drink Operations at SCQF level 6.
