Bus builder wins share of Â£70 million order

Falkirk bus builder Alexander Dennis Limited will build over 200 vehicles for operator FirstGroup.

The deal is worth around £50 million to the business based in Glasgow Road, Camelon.

ADL will deliver 133 doubled decks and 71 midi buses from its new generation ‘low carbon certified’ Euro6 range.

Chief executive Colin Robertson said: “All the vehicles meet exacting demands and endorse our policy of continuous, multi-million pound investment in new technology and the vehicles of tomorrow.”

ADL employs over 700 people and Camelon and 2400 across the world.
