Under new ownership – The New Callendar Arms is setting the standard for going out in Falkirk

This town centre venue has become the place to go for great food, drink and entertainment

When new owners Carol Russell and John Extance took over the pub – affectionately known as The Cally – in January they decided they wanted to offer a brilliant experience for the over 25s in the town,

What they have created is a place to go and have a great, relaxing time with lots of fun.

Carol said: “We wanted to provide somewhere you can come for a coffee and a chat, a nice bottle of wine or a cocktail, lovely food and some entertainment. A place to chill out and relax.”

Our aim was to have people coming in for a memorable experience, and wanting to come back again – and that is starting to happen at The Cally

Great food

From a Cally Burger Banquet and fajitas to old favourites including fish and chips, macaroni cheese and pasta dishes, there is some wonderful food prepared by chef Michelle Fitzpatrick. And, there is a separate kids menu.

In the coming weeks themed food nights will begin with cuisine from around the world showcased alongside talks from our Manager Bruno Freire about what is being served, as well as entertainment.

Live music

Local singer Charley Bell is already popular with customers and lifts up the atmosphere with her upbeat performances that get customers singing and dancing in their seats, or on the floor - whatever takes their fancy.

Lauren Kyle is also a firm favourite and keeps up the weekend party atmosphere with her energetic performance that gets everyone on their feet and singing along.

There are plenty of other acts who grace The Cally as well, all providing first class entertainment.

Coming up

There is lots to look forward to at The Cally.

The football Euros are just around the corner and Scotland’s first game promises to be a thriller. A big screen is in place, as well as a selection of German food and drink, as well Scottish fayre.

Then top magician Kevin Quantum is coming to town and will perform his unique show at The Cally on Saturday 15 June. Once a sumptuous dinner has been enjoyed he will perform individual tricks at each table.

Carol and John are also hoping to book Fringe acts from the Edinburgh festival in the summer.

And, there will be regular quizzes throughout the year.
