Legendary rockers Status Quo are following Elton John to the Falkirk Stadium.
They will headline the final day of ‘Rock The Stadium’ at Westfield on June 23 next year.
The five-piece which has sold over 118 million records and had 22 top ten hits including Caroline, Whatever You Want and In The Army Now will perform rock classics including ‘Rockin all over the World’ as well as performances from their latest – and 29th - studio album ‘Quid Pro Quo’.
Band member Francis Rossi said: “We’re really excited to be performing in Falkirk, the first time in our career. Nothing beats playing live to our Scottish fans and we will put on a great show to Rock the Stadium on Sunday 23rd June.”
Andy Thomson, director of Falkirk FC Events said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming rock legends Status Quo to Falkirk as part of Rock the Stadium. The band is renowned for its professionalism in staging fantastic shows, so this is a must see concert.”
They’ll be joined by 10cc. 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of 10cc’s first single Donna, which reached No.2 in the UK charts and kick-started a remarkable career that has seen the band sell in excess of 30 million albums around the world. The band are set to Rock the Stadium with hits such as Dreadlock Holiday, I’m Not In Love, Wall Street Shuffle, Things We Do For Love and Rubber Bullets.
The Stadium will also host acts from the 1980s era the day before Quo descend on The Falkirk Stadium.
Elton John held a successful gig at the ground earlier this year.
