Getting ready to rock are all the backroom staff at Falkirk Stadium.
With just a month to go until Sir Elton John and his entourage roll into town for a not-to-be-missed concert, final preparations are well underway.
The music legend will be the first to entertain the crowds from a specially erected stage opposite the main stand on Sunday, June 10.
But the football club, who organised the event as part of its community outreach programme, are hoping this will be the first of many similar events, as well as being a welcome fundraiser.
Already around 15,000 tickets have been snapped up with 2000 still remaining, including a few hospitality packages which include a champagne reception and five-course meal, as well as top seats for the concert.
Appearing before the charismatic performer will be classically trained musicians 2CELLOS and Scottish schoolgirl Tallia Storm.
The team at Falkirk FC responsible for promoting community engagement are delighted that their first foray into musical events has landed them such a huge name.
As well as being one of the UK’s best-loved artistes, Sir Elton has sold over 250 million records worldwide and had more than 50 top 40 hits.
His recording of ‘Candle in the Wind’ from 1997, which he co-wrote with Bernie Taupin, is the biggest selling single of all time, with over 333,000 sales.
He comes to Falkirk from a series of concerts in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, and a tour of stadiums in the UK and Europe.
Club director Andy Thomson, who was instrumental in setting up the deal with promoters Marshall Arts, said: “For the moment, we’re taking steps to work hard with our partners and organisations like the emergency services and Falkirk council, who have all been incredibly helpful and enthusiastic, to make sure this event goes smoothly.
“Following that we’ll be looking at other opportunities that are a good fit for the football club and the community as we certainly don’t want this to be a one-off event.”
