Local rockers 5 Second Warning have been asked to play at a benefit weekend for Clutha helicopter crash victims.
The event, which takes place on January 3 and 4 in Glasgow’s Classic Grand, is looking to raise funds for those who lost loved ones in the November 29 tragedy.
Band member Lee McLachlan said: “I’m not sure if we will be playing on the Friday or the Saturday at the moment, but we are absolutely honoured to be asked to play for such an event.
“The tragedy has touched every member of the band and the way the Glasgow community pulled together after the crash makes us feel like every single member of the emergency services and public who assisted that night and the days after were all heroes.
“It makes us so proud to be part of this fund raising event, which I’m sure won’t replace lives taken, or help heal the wounded, but to help financially with anything by helping to raise some money is the very least we could do.”
The Classic Grand gig is just one of a number of fund raising events taking place in the city over the first weekend in January.
