A concert in aid of Parkinson’s UK is taking place at the Dobbie Hall next Friday.

Falkirk Tryst Orchestra stages its annual concert at 7.30 p.m. on October 11, with all proceeds going to the Falkirk branch of the charity.

Since Classic FM began it has made poplar many of the light classics in the programme including part of Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, MacCunns’ The Land of the Mountain and the Flood, the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Peer Gynt music by Grieg.

Aficionados of the light music scene are not forgotten with performances of music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, selections from West Side Story and Miss Saigon and
Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe, the famous theme tune from the film ‘The Mission’.

Tickets for the Larbert Concert, priced £9 (conc. £7 and students £3) are available from players, at the door or by phoning (01324) 638051.
