Athenaeum Winds blow into Falkirk

Kicking off the 2014 Classic Music Live! concerts in Falkirk are talented young wind ensemble Athenaeum Winds.

Playing Falkirk Town Hall on Friday, January 17 at 7.30 p.m., the group is coming to Falkirk as part of its two year residency awarded by Enterprise Music Scotland.

Formed in 2010 from students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the ensemble features, above left to right, Christopher McShane (bassoon), Aleksandra Henszel (flute), Jenna Sloan (horn) and Siobhan Parker (oboe).

Formed from students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), Athenaeum Winds is a diverse, adaptable, lively group with a passion for learning.

The concert is sponsored by Insurance Advisory Larbert and will contain works by Debussy, Danzi, Kilar, Farkas and concludes with The Carmen Suite of Bizet.
