Falkirk Wheel Water Play Area Opens..

Following on from its busiest year ever, The Falkirk Wheel will attract even more visitors with the opening of a splashtastic new water play park. The new park expands upon the existing water play area at the attraction.

Scottish Waterways Trust raised 430,000 for the expansion, which has been funded by grants from Avondale Environmental (300,000), The Veolia Environmental Trust (65,000) and WREN (65,000), all of which have been funded through the Landfill Communities Fund.

Designed to celebrate the history, geography and role of Scotland's inland waterways, the new water play zone features two new pools boasting everything from a climbable stone map of Scotland to miniature canals, water cannons and pilotable model boats. The bigger of the pools will also play host to hydrozorbs and water dodgems.

Will you be turning up to Falkirk Wheel’s 15th birthday?

One of the Falkirk area’s top tourist attractions is 15-years-old and Scottish Canals hope there will be good turn out for the big birthday bash.
