Learning a new skill or hobby can be a daunting thought, especially something as intricate as quilting.
The Grange Quilting Group in Brightons, however, meets every week to help people develop these skills and make colourful creations to brighten up any household or furniture.
The group emerged as a result of a session during a taster week the Grange Centre ran in February to provide new social opportunities for people in the area.
Community education worker Joanne Ellis, who helps run the group, said: “They are a fairly small group who have been learning quilting techniques.
“They are loving it and have created some amazing designs which show that it’s easy to learn if you have the right resources.”
Members will display its work in a fair with stalls and teas and coffees in November at the centre. The friendly group is open to new members of any age or skill level.
