Eight local young dancers are completing the Project Y Foundation Course in Stirling this week.

Amy Ritchie from Denny, Emma Gowans, Jorgie Mills, Taylor Young and Zoe Young from Falkirk, Eden McNeil, Rosie Stevenson and Zoe Wilson from Bonnybridge are among 26 dancers working with YDance choreographer Laura Smith.

They are enjoying daily contemporary dance classes and workshops to improve their dance technique.

By the time the week-long course ends, the youngsters will have learned an entire piece to open the Project Y show at Stirling.

Choreographer Laura said: “We work together to develop a new piece and the participants get great dance and performance experience.

“It’s a great opportunity for young people in Scotland who are interested in dance.”

YDance is the national dance organisation for children and young people in Scotland, and Project Y is now in its ninth year.

The Project Y Stirling Foundation Course will perform tomorrow (Friday) as part of the 2014 Project Y tour at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling.
