Falkirk band Unit Seven mine acoustic gold with ‘Still Alive’ session

Waiting for Video...

The Falkirk Herald captured a magical acoustic performance from one of the area’s most talented bands Unit Seven.

Showcasing the sublime keyboard skills of bass player Shaun Johnston, the rendition of ‘Still Alive’ that features on the Herald Sessions video is very different from the version they will blaze into at The Box in Glasgow tomorrow (Friday) night.

It still has the amazing vocals of singer David McCabe, the twin guitar alchemy of Craig Turnbull and Ryan Cassidy and the rock steady beat laid down by Ben White, but the arrangement is so different it could almost be another song entirely.

‘Still Alive’, the band’s new single, started off as a jokey four-chord attack on the Biebers and the Cowells of this world and the state of the music industry today. Ironically singer David admits it “grew into something more intense” as time went by and now has the power to stir the emotions even when performed in drummer Ben’s living room.

You can check out the acoustic version at www.falkirkherald.co.uk and the plugged in anthem for yourself on i-tunes, Google Play, Amazon and all major online music retailers. Visit www.facebook.com/unitsevenband for more.
