HALLGLEN’S Jade Nimmo is winning so often at the moment she’s practically doing it in her sleep.

The long jumper collected the Women’s title at the McCain Scottish Senior Indoor champs at the Emirates Arena – a week after winning the Combined Events.

That prior weekend has been the long jumper’s focus and took a lot out of her - but not enough to stall her success. “I did enjoy that – although I was shattered afterwards – I even went for a snooze in the café at one stage.”

But there was no lying down at the weekend’s Scottish Senior Indoor event.

The Scottish record-holder leapt 6.16m in her final jump with silver medallist Sarah Warnock at 6.04 and Lisa Ferguson also over the 6m mark.
“My indoor personal best is 6.24 so I am getting closer to that and it was good to come up with 6.16 on my last jump,’” Nimmo said.

“There was a bit of competition with three of us over 6m - that is good and is going to help each of us.” She competes at BUCS (British universities) indoor event this weekend.

“Hopefully I can jump even further,” she added.
