Slamannan boxer Stevie Beattie won his second professional bout comfortably at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.
Following home victories for fellow MGM Scotland fighters Michael Roberts Junior and Lewis Benson, Beattie powered to victory against Sheffield’s Qasim Hussain.
The result was in no doubt as Beattie, backed by a noisy following from Falkirk and watched by former Rangers striker Michael Mols, went to work on his English opponent. Dominating the ring, he kept command of the fight for the full four rounds and it was no surprise when the judges awarded the fight to Beattie, who is backed by Kilsyth Golden Gloves and Grangemouth’s Sparta gyms, by 40 points to 36.
Both Lewis Benson and Michael Roberts Jnr scored points victories over Lithuanian opponents in the first two fights on the card at the MGM Dinner Club.
Beattie won his first pro fight in February against Kristian Laight.
Since then he has been training for fight two, which included the Alloa half marathon which he completed in 77 minutes.
His next fight will come on June 25 at Bellahouston Sports Centre in Glasgow at MGM ‘Summer Showdown’.
