John Coughlin admits he has to find a way to stop a player who was a hero for East Stirlingshire fans last season when Shire meet Alloa Athletic at Ochilview on Saturday.

Kevin Cawley’s goals saved what might have otherwise been a bleak campaign for the club last term, but his summer switch to The Recs means it is Shire who will have to do the worrying at the weekend.

The coach is in little doubt the former Celtic youth player (pictured) is the man to watch for this week’s opposition.

“Our scout who watched their game against Peterhead two weeks ago said he was in great form,” said Coughlin. “He scored both their goals in a 2-1 win and the winner was, by all accounts, a real peach.

“He will be their danger man on Saturday and we will have to find a way of looking after him.”
