Stenhousemuir and East Stirlingshire booked their places in the next round of the Ramsdens Challenge Cup after each recorded fine wins on Tuesday night.

The Warriors won 3-0 away to Annan Athletic with Stewart Kean, Sean Dickson and Andy Rodgers all on target at Galabank.

And rampant Shire caused the biggest upset of the round as they thumped First Division Airdrie United 3-0 at Ochilview.

Scott Maxwell, Kevin Turner and Michael Herd all found the net to leave boss John Coughlin delighted.

“We passed the ball and showed some great composure with the goals,” he said. “We worked really hard and after the goals we never looked back.”

Shire’s next match is at Ibrox this Saturday when they take on Rangers.

“The result has got to give the players confidence but we have to be mindful of the task,” added Coughlin.
