WHEN Stenhousemuir players gather for their next training session it is more likely to be a meeting of long-lost friends than a hard work out.
The big freeze has not only played havoc with the club's ?xture schedule, it has almost put the Warriors into cold storage with the squad unable to train.
John Coughlin is waiting tonight's anticipated thaw to gather his players at Ochilview ahead of a planned trip to East Fife.
"We have managed about one training session in the last fortnight," he said. "It's a bit of a joke, but I am not prepared to ask people to take risks with their lives by getting in a car to drive to training. Some of our players have barely been able to get out of their driveways in any case."
Coughlin was caught up in Monday's roads chaos but
was lucky and completed his journey, though it took
him almost four hours to travel a distance that would
normally take 45 minutes.
"I don't think it's fair to ask people to come out to
training in such conditions,"
"One thing that sticks in my mind is Craig O'Reilly almost seriously injuring himself in a car crash after training in the bad weather last year.I won't have that kind of thing on my conscience."
