Taylor Nimmo has been crowned Scotland’s best under-18 long jumper.

The Graeme High pupil, from Shieldhill, leapt just three centimetres shy of his personal best, scoring 6.33m last Saturday.

He was almost 30cm further than his nearest competitor.

Taylor, younger brother of female national long jump record holder Jade, was also in action in the triple jump, where he took a bronze medal, and the 110m hurdles, coming fourth.

Other Falkirk Vics took part at the weekend meet.

Hollie Lister came third in the under-18 long jump with 4.99m and Ciaran Wright threw the hammer 56.57 to take a gold medal.

Wright was also second in the discus, throwing just under 39m.

Fraser Baird was sixth in the triple jump and Erin Meikle took a silver medal in the under-14 hammer as did Hannah Lawler in the under-18 pole vault.

Kelsey Campbell finished just outside the medals in the under-14s 75m hurdles.
