Swimmer Ross Muir has reached tonight’s 400m individual medley final.

The Falkirk swimmer, who began in the sport doing lengths of the Mariner pool under his father’s tutelage finished fifth in his heat.

But his 4.19.22 swim time over the 400m indiviudual medley was enough to take him into the final at Tollcross tonight in eighth position.

He’s joined in the evening session by friend and training partner Kieran McGuckin who is part of Scotland’s heat-winning 4x100m relay team.

Both were featured on The Falkirk Herald’s special front page ‘The Bairns Supremacy’ which featured local athletes in action at Glasgow this week. Look out for, and use the Twitter hashtag #bairnsupremacy when showing your support for the local athletes.
