IT’S a huge trophy - but Ryan Stronach might have to send it back.
He was crowned winner of the second round in the MSA Karting championship at Shenington in Oxfordshire.
The 16 year-old from Carron crossed the line second, behind Danny Keirle, who had been penalised - sending the trophy to Central Scotland.
But the Stronach family have now been left devastated when checking scores online. An appeal by Keirle has proved successful.
Ryan’s dad Alan told Heraldsport: “We’re devastated. We haven’t even been officially notified, and have no recourse.
“We don’t know what’s to happen to the trophy either.
“Ryan had been bumped in qualifying and started ninth on the grid - it was a great achievement to pull himself up to second - and we were delighted to take first, but what has happened since is a real disappointment.”
The former Larbert High pupil returns to action in Wales next month.
