Old heads won’t block talent path

Youth will still get its chance at Ochilview next season promises Stenhousemuir manager David Irons,

That is despite a summer signing policy that has favoured experienced lower division players.

Irons is at pains to point out that the introduction of Brown Ferguson and Andy Rodgers will not see the Warriors turn their back on their celebrated youth system.

The manager says, if anything, the opposite will be the case.

“I have deliberately reduced the size of the squad so that we will give more opportunities to the younger players.”

“We have brought in the likes of Paul McHale, Martyn Corrigan, Brown Ferguson and Andy Rodgers and we will be looking at signing one or two more.

“But we have also brought through Michael Hunter and Sean Dickson from our under-19’s and they will be important players for us too next term,” said the Ochilview boss.
