Falkirk maintained their faint hopes of pushing the league title to the final day with a 2-0 win over Partick Thistle.

A dull first half was bought to life in the third minute of time added on when Mark Stewart cutback from the by-line with a perfectly weighted pass to Tam McManus

The Bairns striker made no mistake from close in.

After the break, Thistle had numerous chances as Chris Erskine and Khris Doolan both scuffed wide from the edge of the six-yard box with the goal gaping each time.

Thistle then had David Rowson sent off for two bookings on Jackie McNamara’s first visit to The Falkirk Stadium as a manager.

And his night soured further when Mark Stewart sent a lob over Scott Fox from 20 yards to wrap up the three points.
