Jen McIntosh relinquished her Commonwealth title but still finished with a medal.

The Shieldhill sharpshooter won gold in the 50m women’s prone air rifle shoot four years ago in Delhi, and took bronze in the Glasgow Games at the Barry Budden range in Angus.

She had a torrid time at the Olympics but put that London disappointment behind her to take third with an average of 580.6.

It finished her behind New Zealand’s Sally Johnston and South African Esmari van Reenen.

After 60 shots there was only a fraction - 1.2 points - separating McIntosh from gold but the top two held her off and Shieldhill’s Jen hung on to the podium place in front of dad Donald and sister Seonaid as other shooters completed their rounds.
