East Stirlingshire officials are on the lookout for a new management team after Jim McInally and Davie Nicholls tendered their resignation.

The Shire’s management duo, who led the team to a ninth place finish above Clyde on the final day of the season quit last night.

Directors attempted to change their minds before accepting the decision.

McInally had been in charge at the Shire for more than three years and led the team to the Third Division promotion play-offs last season.

This term was a difficult task without the finances of backer Spencer Fearne but a spot off the bottom of the table and blooding many of the club’s youngsters like Steven Jackson, Fraser Team and Stuart Beveridge has made it a relatively successful one.

McInally has also been boss at Greenock Morton and Sligo Rovers. He took over at Firs Park in March 2008 before the club moved to ground-share at Ochilview with Stenhousemuir.
