Former Clark Eriksson Fury star Ali Fraser sealed a terrific individual performance by finishing top scorer for the Great Britain under-20 side at the recent Division B European Championships.
Fraser, who now plays for American college side Maine Black Bears, averaged 20 points and eight rebounds per game at the event in Bulgaria.
The former Falkirk sharp-shooter led all tournament players in two point field goal percentage and scoring.
The competition featured 20 sides and was eventually won by a strong Croatian squad - a team Great Britain had defeated in the initial group stages.
Team GB had to settle for a sixth placed finish overall after Fraser picked up an ankle injury in the second stage group game against Finland, a match the team agonisingly lost by three points, which in turn cost them a place in the semi-finals.
Despite this setback, it still marks Team GB’s highest ever finish at the tournament.
Despite his injury, Fraser still bravely racked up an impressive 21 points.
The 6ft 6in forward’s best performance came against Belgium where he carried the team to a key win with a 37-point performance.
His points tally is the biggest ever by any Scots player in a GB uniform and underlines the talent that Fraser has.
There are now hopes that he could follow in the steps of Kieron Achara, another former Fury player, into the Great Britain Senior Mens side in the not too distant future.
Fraser will almost certainly step up to the Great Britain under-23 futures side next season.
Meanwhile, 6ft 10” Achara is preparing himself for the Olympic opening ceremony tomorrow evening (Friday) when he will join his fellow British teammates in the athlete’s procession.
He’s likely to start when Team GB take on Russia in their opening group game next week.
