Bairns close in on league leaders with 5-1 win in Dumfries
Falkirk came from behind to control the game and strike five times at Palmerston Park.
Two goals each for Farid El Alagui and Craig Sibbald plus another from Kallum
Higginbotham earned Bairns three points as Dundee held runaway leaders
Ross County to reduce the leaders' advantage ahead of next week's visit
to The Falkirk Stadium.
The wonderful goal from 16-year-old Sibbald marked the first half, and
levelled the score for the interval.
The left winger drifted onto the ball and glided past four defenders to
the edge of the Queen of the South box before planting a curling shot
in the net.
The strike levelled the game after Scott McLaughlin gave Queen of the
South the lead on 34 minutes stroking in after good work from Nicky
Clark.
McGovern had already foiled striker Clark with a reactionary
point-blank stop after 14 minutes - another crucial intervention by the
in-form Falkirk number one.
The second half exploded to life and another McGovern wonder-save
foiled Clark but Kallum Higginbotham should have scored when Farid El
Alagui presented him with an open goal. The Englishman stumbled as he
moved to stroke the ball home but made up for the miss later when the
Bairns took control.
El Alagui arrowed a strike in from an acute angle on 73 minutes and
then with Queen of the South knocked Craig Sibbald grabbed a breakaway third for the Bairns.
Kallum Higginbotham beat Robinson ten minutes from time before El Alagui hit his 19th in 23 games with three minutes to go.
Elsewhere Camelon crashed out of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup with more spot-kick misery at Kelty.
East Stiligshire took te lead through Kevin Turner, but drew 1-1 with Clyde at Ochilview.
