Falkirk were the big winners at the weekend, in both football and rugby.
At Sunnyside’s CALA Park, in the early kick-off, Falkirk rugby club disposed of Howe of Fife in the national cup competition.
Later in the afternoon along the road at Falkirk, the Bairns fired four goals past Livingston to keep pace with the teams at the top of the SPFL Championship.
Stenhousemuir succumbed in Fife, falling to a late goal to lose 3-2 in Dunfermline. It wa sa lower scoring affair this week though after the 5-4 win for the Pars at Ochilview.
East Stirlingshire were held 2-2 by Stirling Albion and remain top of League Two.
In the Juniors Falkirk and Camelon’s original ties were rained off with the Mariners rescheduling their match with Lesmahagow in the Emirates Junior Cup to Carmuirs Park fior this coming weekend.
They were quick off the mark too to arrange a match for Saturday, playing a Lothians cup match with Harthill Royal at Carmuirs and it proved worthwhile with a 9-1 win.
It was closer at Dunipace with a 3-2 win for the home side against Rutherglen Glencairn.
Earlier in the day Falkirk foundation’s under-13s won the Scottish Cup 3-1 against Hearts in Glasgow.
