Falkirk Victoria’s male athletes will be in the running for the top division next season.
After a successful season in track and field the Harriers men finished runners up in the Men’s League Division Two - where they have languished for more than a decade.
Shettleston Harriers pipped them to the trophy in an exciting final day, but the Vics, who remained in the top two positions all season, still make the step up to Division One behind the Glasgow side.
The success completes a well-worked strategy which involved determined young athletes entering the senior ranks alongside the established athletes and older heads and coaching and management team.
All had to show an additional commitment this season to be involved in as many events as possible and accumulating maximum points in the process.
The league consists of four separate meetings starting in April and culminating in August at Grangemouth Stadium. The league is divided into division one and two.
