Golfers could play Gleneagles

Golfers from Falkirk district have the chance to earn a place at Gleneagles - home of the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Entries for his year’s Highland Spring Junior Masters, a free-to-enter tournament aimed at the future of Scottish Golf close this week.

Run in conjunction with ClubGolf, Scotland’s national junior golf development programme and assisted by the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association (SLGA), it is open to boys and girls aged under 16 on January 1 this year, who are a member of a Scottish Golf Union or SLGA affiliated golf club.

The first qualifier is at Auchterarder on July 13, then Hopeman on July 16, Vale of Leven on July 24 before the final qualifier at Silverknowes on August 8.

The handicap limit is 28 for boys and 36 for girls and the field will be decided on a reverse handicap ballot.
