GUARD Jonny Bunyan and centre Kieron Achara starred for Scotland in two matches against Andorra last weekend.

The pair were joined by former Fury junior Scott Russell - now of the Glasgow Rocks.

The trio made up a quarter of the Scotland squad in action at The Peak, Stirling on Saturday and Sunday.

Scotland ran out winners on Saturday, by 86 points to 65, but the mountain region hit back on Sunday scoring 78 points to Scotland’s 65.

Jonny Bunyan hit four points in each match and was selected for more than 20 minutes in each.

Kieron Achara was Scotland captain in his hometown and was on court as the first match started slowly with a first quarter score of just 16-12.

The home side ran into a 24-point lead hitting 70 before the end of the third quarter and racking up 86 points.

Andorra won the following day though, utilising quick passing to score 29 to Scotland’s 20 at the end of the first period.

Eventually the visitors developed a 12-point cushion that they maintained and edged another point further from Team Scotland in the final stages of the match.

n Fury’s Ally Fraser is currently on his way to Bosnia with the Team GB development squad.

Katrina Laidlaw was also on national duty and top scored against England.
