Martyn Corrigan is desperate for his team to return to winning ways this weekend – but they’ll have to do it without four key players.
John Gemmell, Brown Ferguson, Eric Paton and Iain Thomson are all unavailable for the match against Alloa Athletic after picking up injuries.
Gemmell is likely to be out for between six and eight weeks after sustaining an ankle injury in last week’s 3-2 defeat away to Forfar.
The striker, known to players and fans alike as ‘The Beast’, has been in good form this season and his absence is a serious set-back to The Warriors.
“He’s done well since joining us, we’re obviously very disappointed that he’ll be out for so long,” Corrigan told Heraldsport.
“We’ve had terrible luck with injuries so far this season. It seems that just when we have one player regaining fitness, another two are ruled out.”
Andy Rodgers is now likely to lead the Stenny attack on Saturday, after starting most games this season on the bench.
“It’s a great opportunity for him,” added Corrigan. “I’ve said before that he’s too good to be stuck on the bench.”
