STENHOUSEMUIR will look to keep their slim chance of promotion alive on Saturday when they take on Ayr United on Saturday.

Providing the Warriors win and results elsewhere go in their favour, Marytn Corrigan’s side could well be back in the mix for a play-off place despite looking out of contention following two defeats to Albion Rovers in the space of a month.

Their cause was helped immensely by a fine win against champions Queen of the South on Tuesday night.

“It shows the commitment we have, now it’s on to Saturday and the remaining games,” Corrigan told Heraldsport.

“I’ve just told the players that every game of the three is a must win and they have taken it on board. We are not too far away, but we have had one or two hiccups along the way. We have had a lot of draws that could have been wins, but Tuesday’s result makes it one a few wins in succession and if we can make it three on Saturday we are still in the hunt.”
