Darren Smith got them off to the best possible start within three minutes of kick-off and Sean Dickson put Stenny two up on eight minutes.

Former Queen’s park midfielder Alan Trouten reduced the deficit and would later score a penalty for the visitors but Ray McKinnon’s side would never get close to the Warriors who restored their two goal advantage through Josh Watt and sub John Gemmell took them clear of Brechin with the fourth.

Elsewhere East Stirlingshire were defeated at Links Park Montrose, where David Gray opened the scoring for the home side.

There was better news in Sauchie where Camelon saw off the home side at Beechwood Park and progressed in the Scottish Cup with a 3-1 win. They’ll play Whifflets Victoria in the quarter final.
