Scotland boss Gordon Strachan has finally added a Falkirk flavour to his squads.

Scott Arfield was consistently snubbed for previous squads under Strachan and Craig Levein, but another ex-Bairn, Stephen Kingsley, has been called up for the games against France and Italy in Malta.

And joining him, representing the Falkirk district is ex-Stenhousemuir and Shire goalkeeper Jack Hamilton, from Denny.

Hamilton, who has been Neil Alexander’s understudy at Hearts, has only played ten senior matches.

Kingsley has made many more, having been Falkirk’s first-choice left-back before a move to Swansea in 2014.

The young defender made his full Premiership debut for the Swans at Arsenal’s Emirates Arena this season and is featuring more regularly for the Welsh side where he is joined by further Falkirk Academy graduates Botti Biabi, Ryan Blair and Jay Fulton.

Scott Arfield, another ex-Bairn who made a name for himself in the English top flight with Burnley made his international debut with Canada earlier this year after being overlooked by Scotland.
