Peter Houston is relishing his first competitive home match as Falkirk manager.

Rangers come to Westfield on the back of a 2-1 defeat by Hearts but the Bairns boss does not believe that makes his challenge any greater. The Bairns had a similarly sticky start to the season with a 2-2 draw at Cowdenbeath.

He dismissed notion of a Rangers backlash and added: “This league has three of the biggest clubs in the country and it’s always a big occasion when the Old Firm come to town.

“I’ve watched them against both Hearts and Hibs and it will be tough but we are all very much looking forward to it.”

Houston also discussed his new recruit James McDonaugh with The Falkirk Herald.

A limited number of tickets for Friday night’s game are still available for Bairns fans from the club shop.
