Primary school age children can watch Falkirk for free after the club released a set of progressive prices for the new season.
In a bid to “bring more young people back to football” the Bairns have pledged tempting offers and pricing structures for season ticket holders and young supporters. And they revealed all under-12s will gain free entry to The Falkirk Stadium with a paying adult, while walk-up prices have also been cut and every seat in the Falkirk Stadium is available for £20 or less.
Season tickets went on sale yesterday at early-bird discount of up to £100 and general manager David White explained the price-cut for fans was a bid to “bring more young people back to the football on a Saturday.”
“The Family Section is always a busy area, so we have taken that popularity on board and applied this offer across the Stadium to bring more young people and even more families to the club,” he told The Falkirk Herald.
Tickets are on sale now from the club shop, and online from Saturday evening.
The prices were welcomed by the Falkirk Supporters’ Society and Supporters’ Direct groups.
Brian Guthrie, local SD vice-chair told The Falkirk Herald he supported the price policy “as both an SD representative and as a Falkirk fan.”
He added: “It’s something that comes up regularly. Admission prices are too expensive and prohibit young supporters being taken along to matches, so Falkirk are being very pro-active in this step. It worked well for the clubs who have done so.” They include Stenhousemuir who allow all under-16s free entry to Ochilview.
The FSS also said the group was “delighted to see that the Club trying to invest in the club’s future by trying to encourage younger supporters along to the games.
“Overall FSS are happy with the pricing package the club has announced.
“ FSS are delighted to see that the Club are trying to invest in the club’s future by trying to encourage younger supporters along to the games. We would like to see the club follow this up and heavily promote their initiative with local schools, sports clubs and youth groups.
“It is good to see season ticket prices staying the same however PATG pricing for the South Stand especially is still a concern. We hope the club run initiatives throughout the season for less attractive games. This we believe will attract those fans who either can’t afford the expense of a season ticket or circumstances dictate they are unable to attend enough home games to justify buying a season ticket.”
