Deals that took Ryan Flynn and Scott Arfield to each of this season’s League One play-off finalists will guarantee money for Falkirk.
The Bairns added clauses into each of the midfielder’s deals with an additional payment due north of the border should either club reach the Championship with the midfielders’ help.
But Huddersfield failed last term and are in the final this term where Arfield could be pitted against his former Falkirk Academy mate.
Arfield limped out of the Terriers’ first leg win over MK Dons and watched on as his team-mates sealed the deal last night.
Flynn’s Blades are also heading to Wembley and both will play-off for the final spot in the Championship on May 26.
There’s even more Bairns interest in the game with Kallum Higginbotham playing a starring role on the wing for Simon Grayson’s Huddersfield.
The game will also dictate which league Murray Wallace will play in. The teenager joined Arfioeld and Higginbotham at the Galpharm Stadium in January but was immediately loaned back to complete the season at The Falkirk Stadium.
