Falkirk goalkeeper Michael McGovern has been called up to Northern Ireland international squad for the friendly with Norway next week.

The stopper already has one international cap, earned in a second half appearance against Chile in 2010.

McGovern kept the South American side out during his spell between the sticks.

Falkirk’s last internationalist was Darren Barr, who played for Scotland against Northern Ireland at Hampden in July 2008.

He was also called up but not used for the Kirin Cup tour of Japan.

Goalkeeper Josh Wagenaar and Russell Latapy were also recent Bairns on the international scene.
