Manager of the month Gary Holt has dedicated his November award to all the players and staff at The Falkirk Stadium.
The Bairns boss picked up his gong at Hampden this week after two wins and a draw in the SPFL hoisted the Bairns up the table. The position strengthened at the weekend with a win over Raith taking Falkirk third and Holt told Heraldsport: “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
“It’s nice to get the plaudits when you’re doing well - it’s a reward for everyone.
“But the boys weren’t happy with the win on Saturday - they want to do even better, so that’s what we have to balance the praise with the areas that require tweaks.”
Holt watched Saturday’s opponents Queen of the South lose 3-0 in the Scottish Cup to St Mirren on Tuesday.
After the game, Falkirk players will head to their Christmas night out - and will go with the manager’s blessing.
“They deserve it,” said the manager, “you can’t begrudge players down-time. They need it and have earned it with their performances so far.
“It’s a busy time and they have put a lot of work in this season and they’ll be out and about again over the next few weeks at various events.
“The role of the club in the community is something we take seriously and they’ll be meeting fans at the shop, and visiting the hospital too.
“We want to win - like we do every game - but there’s no threat of cancellation hanging over them - not after how much we’ve put in.”
