Stenhousemuir slumped to Stirling defeat while Falkirk were pipped at the post by Dunfermline.

As the season draws near the friendlies are running out, and on Saturday, Falkirk drew 2-2 in Dunfermline (match report here).

Stenhousemuir were also in action at Ochilview, but though new signing Sean Higgins found the net, Martyn Corrigan’s side slumped to a 4-1 defeat.

The Binos’ goals came from Sandy Cunningham, Mark Ferry, Phil Johnston plus and own goal from Kevin McKinlay.

The Warriors also fielded a team earlier in the day against Camelon, but there was further disappointment for the Ochilview outfit, as the Mariners took a 2-1 victory back to Carmuirs Park.

Saturday sees competitive action return for the three local senior teams, but Camelon have another pre-season match tonight (Monday) at home to Falkirk Juniors.

Falkirk also have another opportunity for a Ramsdens Cup warm-up when they contest the Stirlingshire Cup final from last season tomorrow night, at Dumbarton’s Bet Butler Stadium.
