Kris Faulds netted a last-gasp equaliser for Falkirk at Stark’s Park.
The Bairns - minus Phil Roberts - finally netted with a matter of seconds remaining gto remain third in the league behindeir hosts for the day Raith Rovers.
Gary Holt handed David McCracken his first start as a Falkirk player, at the expense of Roberts, who was cited as still suffering the back injury that ended his League Cup endeavours early on Wednesday night.
That meant a reshuffle for Gary Holt with Will Vaulks accomodating the manager’s former Wycombe team-mate by moving into a slightly more advanced role. But the move didn’t have an immediate effect as Raith scored within three minutes of play, through former Stenhousemuir man Grant Anderson.
It could have been worse for the Bairns as Greig Spence rattled the crossbar in the first half.
Early in the second half a great save from Michael McGovern kept the scores down, and only a stop from David McGurn at the other end kept Blair Alston outy had another hot cleared off the line.
The midfielder was replaced by on-loan Wigan Athletic forward Rakish Bingham midway through as Gary Holt searched for a means of breaking down Raith’s defence, and he finally did, but it was another sub - Kris Faulds who netted late on.
The midfielder was a masterclass in the recent under-20s win over Dumbarton in the Stirlingshire Cup, and which earned him the place on the bench after being out of the first team frame in the past 12 months.
And he continued in a similar vein by rewarding Gary Holt’s faith in him with the late leveller after replacing Jay Fulton - his first ever goal for the Bairns top team.
