Falkirk have signed 22-year-old Aberdeen right back Joe Shaughnessy on loan.

The move was announced at the Fans Forum meeting at The Falkirk Stadium tonight.

Peter Houston moved for the defender who can play right-back and centre-half, on transfer deadline day. Other negotiations continued as the fans’ heard Martin Ritchie’s sustainability review results.

Peter Houston said: Joe is a big strong lad and very good in the air.

“He can play full back or central defence and because of his height will give us a real goal threat at set-pieces and corners.”

The defender played 50 times for Aberdeen and has also been on loan at Forfar. he previously played in Ireland for Salthill Devon.
