Falkirk’s Scottish Cup hangover continued when they went down to Partick Thistle at Westfield.

And the Bairns were once again forced to watch another team celebrate as the 2-0 win clinched the title for the Jags.

Conor McGrandles went close for Falkirk early on and then Andy Forbes hit the crossbar for the visitors, but the deadlock remained unbroken at the interval.

Although a draw would have been enough for Partick they stepped up the pressure after the break.

Backed by more than 2000 fans, took the lead early in the 50th minute when Andy Dowie headed home from a Forbes corner.

Twelve minutes from time Chris Erskine tied up the points and consigned new Bairns boss Gary Holt to a third straight defeat.
